Ms. Stitt is a Senior Operator/Mechanic with the Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA) where she has experience operating a variety of water and wastewater treatment facilities. She holds Class III Licenses in Water Treatment and Wastewater Treatment, Class II Licenses in Water Distribution & Supply and Wastewater Collection, and a Water Quality Analyst Certification. She has a Water Quality Technician Diploma from Durham College and a Public Relations Certificate from Ryerson University. At the OCWA, she is engaged in the OneWater Education program, actively promotes the I Don’t Flush campaign and helps organize the Eastern Region Charity Golf Classic.
Outside of the OCWA, she is an active volunteer in the water sector. Currently she is the Lead on the Water Environment Association of Ontario’s 2019 Student Design Competition Committee. Previously, she was a Webinar Coordinator for the 2017/18 Canadian Water Network’s Student and Young Professional Committee as well as on the Great Waters Challenge 2017/18 Youth Advisory Board with Waterlution, where she co-authored a children’s storybook called Canada’s Great Water Adventure. Through Waterlution, she also participated in Water Innovation Labs in Australia and Canada and attended Waterlution’s H2O Global Leadership Training.
She is the recipient of the 2017 OCWAmarine Citizenship Award and was a finalist for the 2018 WEAO Outstanding Young Professional Award and the 2018 Water’s Next Young Professional Award.
