Ms. Stitt is a Senior Operator/Mechanic with the Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA) where she has experience operating a variety of water and wastewater treatment facilities. She holds Class III Licenses in Water Treatment and Wastewater Treatment, Class II Licenses in Water Distribution & Supply and Wastewater Collection, and a Water Quality Analyst Certificate. At the OCWA, she is engaged in the OneWater Education program and actively promotes the I Don’t Flush campaign. Outside of the OCWA, she is the Marketing Manager for the Ontario Association of Sewage Industry Services. She has a water quality technician diploma from Durham College and a public relations certificate from Ryerson University.
She is an active volunteer in the water sector. Currently she is the Lead on the Water Environment Association of Ontario’s 2019 Student Design Competition Committee. Previously, she was a Webinar Coordinator for the Canadian Water Network’s Student and Young Professional Committee as well as on the Great Waters Challenge Youth Advisory Board with Waterlution, where she co-authored a children’s storybook called Canada’s Great Water Adventure. Through Waterlution, she also participated in Water Innovation Labs in Australia and Canada and attended Waterlution’s H2O Global Leadership Training.
Recently, she co-founded Rain It In, a student competition that invites post-secondary students in Ontario to form multidisciplinary teams and create innovative solutions that will mitigate the impacts of intense rainfall events in our communities. She is also participating in the Water Environment Federation’s Water Leadership Institute.
