On June 27, 2013, we delivered the Centrifugal Pumps: Operation, Maintenance and Energy Savings Course at our WCWC headquarters in Walkerton. Eight treatment and distribution operators learned how to perform pump operations in an effective and safe manner. Participants also learned:
- About centrifugal pump components and their functions
- How to read pump curve and understand the effect of the system curve in order to choose the best duty point for the pump
- Best operational practices to save energy, and
- How to recognize pump condition monitoring as an effective tool for better pump performance and reduced maintenance cost.
This group was a pleasure to host and we look forward to continuing to deliver this course throughout the province.
