Efficiency in Drinking Water Operations – CEU: 0.7

Course Overview

Drinking water and wastewater systems account for up to 38% of utility costs. This course provides participants with tools for the review, recommendation and implementation of cost, water and energy-saving initiatives in treatment plant and distribution systems. An overview of rates, usage and billing will assist attendees in understanding the impact of energy costs, and how incentive programs and energy/water audits can assist in managing these costs.
Activities will focus on ways in which improvements can be made to processes and equipment that offer a Return On Investment (ROI) throughout the treatment and distribution cycle. The role of the customer in water conservation will also be discussed.
