Water Instabilities in Distribution Systems (3 hour)
CEU Value 0.3
This is a live virtual training session with interaction between trainer and participants and there is a class max of 15. Participants will require access to a computer that has internet, a camera, microphone and access to Zoom, Youtube and Surveyplanet (links will be sent by chat during Zoom session). A manual will be sent to the participant prior to the session by courier.
Participants will gain an understanding of chemical & biological factors that contribute to water quality deterioration within distribution systems.
Attendees will learn about sources of microbiological and chemical instability in distribution and their impacts on drinking water quality. Participants will explore solutions and risks of maintaining chemical & bio-stability.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
• Review factors contributing to microbiological & chemical instability in distribution systems
• Discuss solutions to maintain chemical & bio-stability
• Describe unintended consequences that may arise in distribution when implementing instability solutions
This course will be of interest to new and experienced distribution operators with a role in maintaining water quality in their distribution system.
