The Walkerton Clean Water Centre (the Centre) Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Carl Kuhnke as the Centre’s new Chief Executive Officer.

Carl is currently the Managing Director at the Province of Saskatchewan’s Centre of Excellence for Transportation & Infrastructure (SCETI). Prior to his current position, he was the Executive Director of ITS Canada in Toronto, Chief Operating Officer of the Science Council of BC, and served 20 years as a Senior Canadian Technology Diplomat in Asia, the USA and Europe.  Carl has his Bachelor of Science (Environmental Science and Biotechnology) and Master of Business Administration from the University of Alberta.

Chair of the Board, John Stager is very pleased with Carl’s acceptance of the position with the Centre. “Carl’s academic qualifications, his extensive experience managing centres of excellence and science-based organizations, plus his international work and contacts as a diplomat for Canada uniquely qualify him for this position and we look forward  to working with Carl to deliver on the important work of the Centre.”

Carl will be joining the Centre in September. When asked about his new opportunity Carl stated “I am most eager to join the high performance team at the Walkerton Clean Water Centre. It plays a critical role in safeguarding the province’s drinking water drinking supplies, and we will continue to train, educate and provide ongoing support to drinking water providers across the province”.

The board, management and staff of the Centre wish to express our thank you to Roman for his three years of service and the contributions he has made during his time here.  We wish Roman all the best as he has accepted a position as Chief Administrative Officer with the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville.
