Walkerton Clean Water Centre participated in Bruce County Doors Open event

On June 10 and 11, 2017, the Walkerton Clean Water Centre (the Centre) participated in Bruce County Doors Open, an event that opened many buildings of interest to the public.

More than 100 people visited the Centre and received guided tours highlighting the environmental features of the building. These features, such as geothermal and solar energy systems, energy efficient lighting, and a water retention cistern, help conserve energy and water and reduce the building’s impact on the natural environment. Participants also visited the Technology Demonstration Facility and learned about the Centre’s role in educating and supporting owners, operators and operating authorities of drinking water systems across Ontario.
