Course Overview

Drinking water system supervisors, managers and operators with supervisory responsibilities have an important role in successful Drinking Water Quality Management Standard (DWQMS) audits.
This course begins by reviewing the difference between inspections and audits, as well as internal versus external audits. Participants will be provided with an overview of quality management systems, examine common audit findings, and what types of questions to anticipate during audits. Key elements of the DWQMS where operators, supervisors and managers hold responsibility for audit readiness will be discussed in detail. Through facilitated discussions, participants will have the opportunity to share their knowledge and experiences with the audit process.
The session will also provide best practices to prepare for a successful audit.

Target Audience

This course is primarily designed for supervisors and managers of drinking water systems, as well as operators with supervisory or management responsibility.
Please note: Drinking water system operators with no supervisory or management responsibility should register for Introduction to Audits for Operators.
