Course Description

This hands-on course will introduce participants to hand tools commonly utilized in the water industry. Proper terminology and operating techniques will be discussed in detail, supported by a series of hands-on activities. Through instruction and case studies, participants will learn important safety measures for working with select tools, electrical and pressure hazards, and working alone. Attendees will have the opportunity to practice diagnostic and troubleshooting techniques.

By the end of this session, participants will have the ability to:

  • Discuss proper tool terminology and operating techniques
  • Express awareness of safety measures when working with select tools
  • Demonstrate the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot

Target Audience

This course has been developed for drinking water treatment and distribution operators with minimal experience using industry-related hand tools.
